Ema Chicago is seeking a Head Chef

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the opening shift operations, including inventory management, food orders, and menu adjustments.
  • Ensure efficient back-of-house operations, including food preparation and cooking, while managing kitchen staff.
  • Provide leadership and support to both hourly and management teams, promoting a positive workplace culture.
  • Monitor food costs and manage purchasing of supplies and ingredients.
  • Collaborate with management to create daily prep lists and assign tasks to kitchen staff.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on menu items throughout service.
  • Work with management to maintain and update recipe documentation.
  • Facilitate communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams regarding food production and special requests.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of kitchen staff.
  • Encourage teamwork and collaboration among all staff members.
  • Handle guest, vendor, and employee interactions with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Be flexible with scheduling, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving items as required.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Head Chef in a full-service restaurant.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop culinary teams.
  • Expertise in managing back-of-house operations.

Salary Range: USD $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year.
