POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Administrator is tasked with overseeing the organization and management of various educational settings operated by Marquette-Alger RESA, including specialized programs for students with unique needs. This role involves the development, organization, and administration of these educational initiatives in alignment with the Agency's strategic objectives. Additionally, the Administrator will act as the State Assessment Coordinator and oversee Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree in Educational Administration
  • State certification as a School Administrator
  • Valid Teaching Certificate
  • Five years of relevant teaching experience
  • Experience working with at-risk youth facing various challenges
  • In-depth knowledge of special education regulations and laws
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with parents and professionals
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous administrative or leadership experience
  • Familiarity with relevant departments and programs
  • Experience in developing tailored instruction for students with disabilities
  • Training in conflict resolution techniques
  • Experience in providing professional development for educators
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervision of Assigned Programs:
  • Manage and oversee designated educational programs in accordance with the Agency's strategic plan.
  • Coordinate the planning and placement of students within these programs.
  • Facilitate transitions for students returning to local schools.
  • Responsible for program budgeting and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with local education administrators.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all programming-related inquiries.
  • Supervise and evaluate program staff.
  • Implement continuous evaluation processes for all assigned programs.
Agency-Wide Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate data collection for program outcome analysis and reporting.
  • Lead curriculum development and program evaluation initiatives.
  • Coordinate state assessments and manage logistics for testing.
  • Assist in the design and delivery of professional development on special education topics.
  • Participate in various meetings and represent the Agency at regional events.
  • Develop and recommend policy changes as necessary.
  • Oversee the coordination of services for students entering and exiting programs.
  • Lead recruitment and budgeting efforts for program staff.
  • Collaborate with local agencies to enhance service delivery.
  • Create documentation and processes to ensure compliance and positive student outcomes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all Agency and student information.
  • Regular travel may be required for job-related purposes.
  • Occasional overnight travel for professional development may be necessary.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time, non-union position requiring consistent attendance and performance.

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Special Education
