Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Coordinator of Student Wellness Programs is essential in establishing a thorough framework for social-emotional prevention and intervention strategies across various educational institutions. This role emphasizes tier 1 prevention and universal practices, ensuring the effective execution of the social-emotional vision set forth by the organization.

The Coordinator will be instrumental in crafting, modifying, and implementing a social-emotional prevention and intervention model within schools. They will also assist educators in fostering students' social and emotional growth through a multi-tiered support system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct training sessions for staff on critical topics such as trauma-informed practices, suicide prevention, positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS), restorative practices, and social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum.
  • Collaborate with educational leaders and community stakeholders to ensure resources are effectively utilized to meet student needs and enhance the overall school environment.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with local organizations to create a robust support network for students.
  • Utilize data analysis to inform decisions and refine SEL initiatives.
  • Stay informed on the latest research and best practices in social-emotional learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in health education, education, or a related field.
  • Experience in educational settings, particularly focusing on K-12 social-emotional learning.
  • Familiarity with the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) frameworks.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to present effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in various technology platforms, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to cultivate positive relationships with educators, administrators, and community members.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires travel to various educational sites and collaboration with multiple school districts. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary to accommodate the needs of the schools and the students served.

COMPENSATION: Salary will be determined based on the established scale for educational professionals.
