Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day culinary operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, and maintaining a positive and productive kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with overseeing day-to-day culinary operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and kitchen maintenance.
  • Line check and ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients.
  • Maintain a professional kitchen culture and environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.
  • Execute and maintain prep and dish recipes, adhering to seasonal changes and menu updates.
  • Work with management to create a memorable experience for guests, ensuring exceptional plate presentation and quality.
  • Train, coach, and inspire BOH team members, promoting growth and development.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment, ordering, and inventory management, ensuring efficient operations.
  • Schedule, onboard, and manage BOH team members, ensuring adequate staffing and coverage.
  • Implement food waste control measures and coordinate food and kitchenware needs.

Qualifications

  • Culinary Arts degree preferred.
  • Two years of BOH management experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
  • Technology savvy, comfortable with MS Office, Google Apps/programs, and Aloha.
  • Exemplary knife skills and ability to coach/train others.
  • Demonstrated success in managing people and strong leadership skills.
  • English proficient, bi-lingual a plus.

Physical Demands

This is a full-time, hourly position, requiring the ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 5 hours in length. Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
