About the Role

McGuireWoods is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional to join our Business Development team as a Business Development Coordinator in our Charlotte office.

The successful candidate will support finance and financial institution-focused departments, industry teams, and practice groups, including Private Credit, Syndicated Finance, and Debt Finance. Key responsibilities will include developing and executing clear strategies and business plans, leveraging a wide range of marketing functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Lead Business Development professionals to pursue new business opportunities and retain existing clients
  • Facilitate deal collection and league table submissions
  • Maintain critical lists for reporting on business development plan ROI
  • Draft and project manage directory submissions and other practice or industry-specific rankings
  • Track incoming work and referrals, practice group successes, opportunity outcomes, and targeting efforts
  • Maintain and update collateral, representative work, and website content
  • Assist with pitches and proposals, including drafting, editing, and producing error-free deliverables
  • Assist with budget management
  • Support the team with organizing and executing in-person and virtual events, seminars, webinars, receptions, sponsorships, and attorney speaking engagements
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required
  • A minimum of one year of experience in marketing, business development, practice development, or a related field is required; 3+ years of experience is preferred
  • Experience in a professional services firm, particularly in the legal or financial services industry, is a plus
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact at all levels
  • Proven ability to effectively multitask and prioritize both short- and long-term project deadlines
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • High attention to detail, ensuring quality deliverables
  • Proficiency in systems and database tools, including Microsoft Excel and CRM applications
