Job Summary

Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Systems Engineer, Space Flight Hardware to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the development and production of advanced spacecraft hardware.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform qualification and acceptance level environmental testing, including generating test plans, procedures, executing tests, and analyzing test results.
  • Perform mechanical assembly, integration, and test of spacecraft hardware and support equipment.
  • Provide technical expertise related to test operations and results.
  • Communicate information about design, requirements, and performance between the engineering team, management, customer, and vendors.
Requirements
  • Minimum of B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or related STEM discipline) plus 2+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of technical education and experience).
  • Hands-on experience in the development and testing of spacecraft hardware.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and virtual communication skills.
  • Must be a US Person.
Preferred Requirements
  • Expertise in the development of spacecraft systems, from conceptual design through delivery, including traceability requirements for safety critical systems.
  • Experience developing test plans and procedures.
  • Experience with CAD software (CREO and CATIA preferred).
  • Operation, assembly/disassembly, and maintenance of test equipment required including but not limited to thermal chamber and pressure systems.
  • Experience working with standards for spacecraft hardware design and test (MIL-STD-810, NASA-STD).
  • Experience with quality systems (ISO9001, AS9100) in a production environment.
  • Experience working in and maintaining a clean room environment (ISO Class 8 or cleaner).
Physical Requirements
  • Assembly of hardware required, including but not limited to small screws and precision applications of adhesive and grease.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
Compensation

Salary Range (Annualized USD): $68,000.00 to $150,000.00
