Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal ASIC Hardware Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for specifying, designing, verifying, testing, and documenting Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs).
Key Responsibilities
- Design and simulate circuits at transistor-level to implement architecture and requirements.
- Perform physical layout, including floor-planning, and simulate circuits using extracted parasitics.
- Design and validate Register-Transfer Level (RTL) code.
- Perform logic synthesis and place-and-route for digital designs.
- Perform system-level design, including caches and memory subsystems.
- Perform timing, signal integrity, and power integrity analyses.
- Optimize hardware designs for performance, power, and cost.
- Evaluate the hardware feasibility of complex algorithms and requirements.
- Drive solutions to complex problems with limited direction - contribute to requirements development, propose ways forward, and adapt appropriately to changes in requirements.
- Independently perform complex ASIC architectures and designs.
- Drive solutions to complex problems - develop requirements, propose ways forward when customer requirements are unclear or incomplete, and adapt appropriately to changes in requirements.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) able to perform advanced architectures and designs for complex ASICs.
- Involved in business development and proposal activities.
- Identify program/system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
- Manage multi-disciplinary tasks with multiple engineers and effectively communicate status to project leadership and customers.
- Develop, document, and teach best practices to less experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Proficiency in ASIC design, microprocessor programming, or embedded computing.
- Understanding of ASIC design and general computer architecture.
- Ability to write detailed design specifications.
- Computer programming and coding abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and time management skills to achieve program goals.
Education and Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Requires 7-10 years of experience with a bachelor's degree, or 5-10 years of experience with a master's degree in ASIC Hardware Engineering or a related field.
Clearance
The position requires the ability to obtain a US secret clearance, which requires proof of US citizenship.
