Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sales and Event Operations Director to lead our catering operations at a large account or coordinate multiple catering outlets at a single account. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing catering orders and special events, as well as leading all aspects of the catering team to implement events in line with customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and complete catering solutions to meet customers' needs by providing creative and personalized event concepts and menus;
- Build and maintain effective client and customer relationships through regular communication and excellent service delivery;
- Deliver consistent quality in planning and carrying out events, including developing and implementing event strategies and managing event logistics;
- Facilitate the delivery of prepared food built from banquet event orders, ensuring timely and accurate execution;
- Assist clients in planning special events and providing creative solutions to clients' needs, including menu development and event design;
- Train and direct catering employees to ensure catering and events standards are followed, ensuring quality in final presentation;
- Provide completed Banquet Event Orders to the team and handle quality assurance with all requests, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail;
- Responsible for delivering sales, food, and labor targets, maintaining department budgets, and ensuring accurate reporting of all catering related revenue, expenses, and receivables;
- Recruit, train, schedule, and lead the Catering team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional events;
- Ensure compliance with all food, occupational and environmental safety policies, including adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards.
Requirements
- At least 4-6 years of experience in a management role, preferably in the events and catering industry;
- 1-3 years of experience in a leadership position, with a proven track record of success in managing teams and driving business growth;
- Previous experience in events and catering required, with a strong understanding of event planning and execution principles;
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a focus on hospitality, marketing, or a related field;
- Available to work event-based hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders;
- Complete Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications as required, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment;
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, with occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
