Position Overview: The University of Georgia Libraries is seeking an innovative and team-oriented professional for the role of Coordinator of Collection Insights and Open Strategies.
Reporting Structure: This position will report to the Director of Collections and will be an integral part of a newly formed Content Strategy team, which consists of four specialized Collection Coordinators and a Collections Support Specialist.
Team Responsibilities: The Content Strategy team is tasked with crafting strategies and managing the Libraries' substantial investment in research collections and open scholarship initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: The Coordinator of Collection Insights and Open Strategies will lead the Libraries' projects related to collection analysis, employing data-driven methodologies to assess, acquire, and evaluate resources effectively.
In collaboration with the Director of Collections and other team members, as well as colleagues from various departments such as Collections, Acquisitions, Scholarly Communications, and Academic Engagement, this role will also provide strategic guidance for the Libraries' support of Open Scholarship, Open Access collections, and open publishing efforts. This includes evaluating potential opportunities and advising on the reallocation of collection investments to enhance open research.
Supervisory Role: This position includes the oversight of a Collections Support Specialist, who will assist in collection analysis projects by collecting and organizing data from various library and vendor systems, and generating reports to inform the Libraries' collection strategies.
