Head of Securities Operations Manager

The Head of Securities Operations will be responsible for overseeing the middle office, settlement, and reporting functions for the Nikko Treasury business. This role will involve managing a team of approximately 30 staff across New York and Charlotte. The successful candidate will serve as a key point of contact for various stakeholders, including Front Office, COO, Compliance, Accounting, IT, and other teams associated with the Fixed Income business.
The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience managing within the Fixed Income/Treasury Operations space. They will be required to have FINRA Series 99 (or equivalent) and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will also be proficient in FINRA rules and regulations, clearance processes, industry transaction platforms/applications, and treasury settlement, self-clearing, tri-party, and treasury auction processes.
The Head of Securities Operations will be responsible for creating detailed and auditable policies and procedures, establishing a robust control framework/infrastructure, and ensuring alignment to regulatory requirements. They will also be required to coordinate audit and audit-related functions, establish and maintain professional working relationships with clearing houses and custody banks, and oversee the implementation of strategic projects and initiatives related to Nikko Americas objectives.
The role will also involve managing administrative staff duties, such as recruiting and retaining talented staff, coaching and arranging team training, conducting team meetings, and facilitating annual performance reviews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversight of middle office, settlement, and reporting functions for the Nikko Treasury business

Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience managing within the Fixed Income/Treasury Operations space
- FINRA Series 99 (or equivalent)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in FINRA rules and regulations, clearance processes, industry transaction platforms/applications, and treasury settlement, self-clearing, tri-party, and treasury auction processes
