Job Title: Assistant Controller

Singer Industrial is a leading industrial distributor with a strong presence in North America. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team in Sioux Falls, SD.

Job Summary:

The Assistant Controller will provide high-level support to the Corporate Controller, contributing to the development and maintenance of financial reporting, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Corporate Controller in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures.
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger.
  • Review and analyze monthly management financial reports.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Work with Business Units to audit/reconcile random balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.
  • Work with Business Units to Consolidate reports for quarterly reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate annual audits conducted by a third party.
  • Participate in preparation of Annual Corporate Tax Returns prepared by a third party.
  • Assist in financial analysis of prospective acquisitions.
  • Help Business Units manage online banking access.
  • Assist in managing corporate credit card program and Concur (expense reporting).
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years Previous Accounting Experience, preferably with multiple Business Units.
  • Proficiency in GAAP, MS Office, and accounting software.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills.
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly Organized and Detail-Oriented.
  • Able to Work in a Group Setting or Without Supervision.
