Job Title: Financial Controller

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team at Aston Carter. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for planning and directing the accounting operations of the company, including maintaining and producing financial information and accounting tasks of company accounts and records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the accounting staff and manage the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Operate all accounting systems and records, including cash receipts, expenditures, investments, purchasing, inventory, assets, payroll.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial reporting systems to ensure integrity of finances based on sound accounting procedures and controls.
  • Meet mandated publication and filing dates for financial documents.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and verify the bank balance with the general ledger.
  • Supervise all month-end and year-end accounting procedures, including preparation and entry of journal entries for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and General Ledger computer systems.
  • Meet accounting operational standards by contributing financial information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system.
  • Maintain cash flow by monitoring bank balances and cash requirements, investing excess funds.
  • Approve cash disbursements by verifying check amounts against invoices, authorizing checks and wire transfers. Approve ledger entries by auditing transactions.
  • Lead annual audit (and any other state audits) by providing information and answers to auditors.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting systems, general ledger, budget preparation, tax levy, bank reconciliation, audit management, cash flow monitoring, and financial security.
  • Excellent team management, strategic planning, problem-solving, attention to detail, and confidentiality skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
