Site Operations Manager

Objective: The individual in this role is accountable for achieving the operational goals of the site while meeting the expectations of all stakeholders, including owners, clients, and team members. This position entails leading the assessment, allocation, and management of human, physical, and financial resources at the location. The role also involves selling both new and pre-owned agricultural, commercial worksite, and turf machinery to both prospective and existing clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Management of Location and Personnel- Oversees recruitment, staffing, and development initiatives for team members under this role.
- Attracts, retains, and engages personnel effectively at the location.
- Communicates company values, principles, and operational updates regularly with staff.
- Addresses employee and inter-departmental issues promptly and fairly.
- Achieves targeted sales and revenue objectives for sales, parts, and service as set by the organization.
- Plans and executes store functions, community engagement activities, and promotional events.
- Collaborates with Parts and Service Managers to enhance customer satisfaction and profitability while resolving issues.
- Implements effective sales and settlement processes to optimize financial and market performance.
- Executes the sales department and location business strategy, reviewing progress consistently.
- Assists sales/service/parts staff in identifying potential clients and closing sales.
- Coaches sales professionals to effectively implement the sales and settlement processes.
- Identifies training needs and develops sales professionals accordingly.
- Acts as the representative for the sale of machinery to a defined customer base.
- Proactively expands the customer base in the assigned territory and follows up on leads.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of product features and benefits for all equipment available for sale.
- Monitors competitor activities and communicates findings promptly.
- Maintains comprehensive customer information within the assigned territory.
- Adheres to a defined sales process consistently.
- Maintains assigned company vehicles and equipment in good condition.
- Conducts product demonstrations in the field.
- Spends a minimum of three days annually in the field with customers for hands-on learning.
- Tracks trends in customer business activities and communicates insights to company representatives as necessary.
- Stays informed about financing, warranty, and service options to assist customers in purchasing decisions.
- Participates in relevant sales and management training events.
- Maintains knowledge of used equipment values for accurate trading evaluations.
- Shares best practices and implements standardized sales and management processes.
- Recommends necessary sales department equipment for the location, including vehicles and office tools.
- Ensures the maintenance, security, and professional appearance of the facility and property.
- Actively engages in local civic or charitable organizations, holding office at least once every four years.
- Promotes and maintains a safe working environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in equipment sales.
- Proven ability to teach and coach sales professionals on effective selling techniques.
- Experience in leading and mentoring teams.
- Strong customer relationship and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with industry products, including John Deere and competitors.
- Proficient in using sales software and standard office applications.
- Basic business acumen and mathematical skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports effectively.
Physical and Other Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
