Clayton Services is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to become part of a dynamic organization. The Supply Chain Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless communication across production, sales, and distribution phases to enhance a robust and effective supply chain.

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $20.00-$22.00/hour

Key Responsibilities of the Supply Chain Specialist:

  • Oversee operational functions of offsite facilities, including shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory oversight.
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs to monitor and evaluate on-time shipping (OTS) performance for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare all necessary shipping documentation (Ocean Bill Of Lading, Packing List, Commercial Invoice, COO, etc.) for import and export activities.
  • Update ERP systems with accurate delivery information, including OBL and customs release status.
  • Ensure the secure and timely pickup and delivery of shipments.
  • Monitor shipping costs and timelines effectively.
  • Address and resolve any shipment and inventory challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Logistics Manager to implement and maintain carrier scorecards.
  • Work closely with Planning, Product Development, Customer Service, and Logistics teams to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct weekly visits to third-party logistics sites.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Typing speed of 40+ words per minute.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with shipping software and platforms (e.g., Worldship).
  • Understanding of purchasing, distribution, and warehouse operations.
  • Experience with Epicor Vantage system is a plus.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required; an associate's degree is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of logistics experience in a comparable role is required.
  • Warehouse management experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is essential.
  • Experience with various transportation modes (parcel, rail, OTR, LTL, International Ocean/Air) is preferred.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and account management is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with TMC and training experience is a plus.
