Aviation Maintenance Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the team within the Maintenance Division, ensuring effective personnel management.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Site Manager.
  • Exhibit a strong customer-focused approach in all operations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities for F-5 aircraft, including O-level and selected-I maintenance.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of OPNAVINST series maintenance publications.
  • Provide regular updates to the Site Manager regarding maintenance department activities and offer recommendations for operational efficiency.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings with functional managers to ensure successful maintenance operations.
  • Act as a liaison with customer representatives to support aircraft maintenance efforts.
  • Prepare and present recommendations to the Site Manager regarding manpower, materials, facilities, and capital equipment needs.
  • Enforce all safety regulations, administrative policies, and government compliance standards.
  • Analyze maintenance data to optimize departmental management.
  • Ensure timely submission of all required reports and maintenance CDRLs.
  • Conduct planning meetings to assess manning, logistics, and equipment requirements for detachments.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of the Monthly Maintenance Plan.
  • Oversee the Maintenance Administration and Logs and Records departments.
  • Collaborate with the Logistics Manager to provide necessary information for logistics planning and component procurement.
  • Evaluate current methods and systems for compliance and cost-effectiveness improvements.
  • Be available for day, night, or weekend shifts and travel as needed for maintenance recovery operations.
  • Demonstrate strong writing skills with clarity and technical precision.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, tool control, and safety awareness.
  • Participate in foreign object prevention walks on the flight line.
  • Understand supply chain procedures and assist in ordering necessary parts and equipment.
  • Adhere to established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations applicable to the role.
Qualifications:
  • Proven background in aircraft maintenance and material support.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience supervising and assigning workloads in aircraft maintenance repair, inspection, and modifications.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Maintenance or Production Control Supervisor.
  • Act as the Maintenance Master Chief Petty Officer (MMCPO) fulfilling qualification and programmatic duties as per COMNAVAIRFORINST series.
