About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team at Hormel Foods Corporation. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of our facilities, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance Management: Make departmental decisions regarding maintenance, including developing and implementing maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Equipment Expertise: Develop a thorough understanding of our equipment and manufacturing processes, including troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical systems.
  • Team Leadership: Train and supervise a team of skilled maintenance technicians, including electricians, plumbers, and other tradespeople.
  • Technical Advice: Provide sound technical and engineering advice to support facilities performance improvement and optimize physical assets.
  • CMMS and CAD: Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to gather information, design custom alterations to equipment, and select vendors for equipment purchases.
  • Troubleshooting and Installation: Troubleshoot mechanical processes, install and start-up new equipment and processes, and develop creative ideas to cut costs.
  • Project Management: Supervise equipment design changes, monitor and control energy use, research alteration requests, and provide justification.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate and oversee contract work, plan, authorize, delegate, and follow-up with maintenance work-orders, and schedule preventive maintenance for equipment.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of our physical plant and facilities, verify and complete administrative work, and communicate department projects with plant management.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3 or more years of maintenance supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Innovative, good technical and mechanical knowledge, excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Citizenship: Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Authorization: Applicants must not now, or any time in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.
