Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Shift Supervisor to oversee daily operations. In this role, you will support the management team by providing effective leadership to achieve club objectives, cultivate a high-performing team, and ensure the club's financial success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership:
    • Assist the Club Manager by offering peer guidance and support.
  • Customer Experience:
    • Establish a welcoming environment for all members, guests, and staff by training and mentoring employees to adhere to excellent customer service standards.
  • Operational Management:
    • Help manage various projects and timelines, ensuring the club remains clean and organized.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Address or escalate staff concerns in a professional manner.
  • Support Coverage:
    • Provide assistance for absent employees as needed.
  • Club Maintenance:
    • Maintain cleanliness at the front desk and lobby areas.
    • Conduct regular inspections of the club every 30 minutes to ensure cleanliness, including tasks such as restocking supplies and cleaning equipment.
    • Ensure all exercise equipment and facilities are kept clean and well-maintained.
  • Front Desk Operations:
    • Respond to phone inquiries in a friendly manner and assist callers with various questions.
    • Check members into the system upon arrival.
    • Facilitate new member registrations.
    • Communicate updates and events to members and guests.
    • Provide tours for prospective members.
    • Assist members with scheduling and logging the use of amenities.
    • Address member inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to the Club Manager when necessary.
    • Process beverage or merchandise transactions through the point of sale system.
  • Account Management:
    • Handle updates to member accounts, including new membership cards and address changes.
    • Manage electronic funds transfer (EFT) modifications and billing inquiries.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Order club supplies while adhering to budget constraints.
    • Track key performance indicators such as guest counts and cancellations.
Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will have 6-12 months of customer service experience, ideally within the fitness sector. A high school diploma or GED is required. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess basic computer skills with a focus on accuracy. Reliability and punctuality are essential. Exceptional customer service abilities are necessary, with a strong capacity to engage positively with members and colleagues. Strong listening skills and the ability to empathize and resolve issues are crucial. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism and appropriate behavior in all interactions.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires continual standing and walking, as well as frequent communication in person or over the phone. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs is necessary, and occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals may occur.
