Job Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and versatile Accounting Manager to join our team. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for managing our accounting and compliance functions, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records, and streamlining our financial processes. You will collaborate with a Bookkeeper and manage an Accounting Administrator.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Operations: Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, statements, and reports.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Closing Processes: Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • System Management: Oversee and manage the NetSuite accounting system, ensuring its effective utilization and integration with other business systems.
  • Financial Planning: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • External Coordination: Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filings.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Financial Communication: Communicate financial insights and updates effectively across various stakeholders and team members.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise junior accounting staff.
Reporting and Team Structure
  • Report to the Head of Finance.
  • Manage accounting team.
Work Environment
  • Hybrid work model: 2 days in-office per week, remaining days remote.
Initial Engagement

To ensure the best fit for both the candidate and Alabaster Co, this role will start as a part-time position for the first three months. This trial period will allow us to mutually assess the fit and performance before transitioning to a full-time role.

Requirements
  • Strong proficiency with accounting software (NetSuite preferred) and Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
