Job OverviewWe are seeking a meticulous and versatile Accounting Manager to join our team. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for managing our accounting and compliance functions, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records, and streamlining our financial processes. You will collaborate with a Bookkeeper and manage an Accounting Administrator.
Responsibilities- Financial Operations: Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, statements, and reports.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Closing Processes: Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- System Management: Oversee and manage the NetSuite accounting system, ensuring its effective utilization and integration with other business systems.
- Financial Planning: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- External Coordination: Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filings.
- Tax Compliance: Manage tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Financial Communication: Communicate financial insights and updates effectively across various stakeholders and team members.
- Team Supervision: Supervise junior accounting staff.
- Report to the Head of Finance.
- Manage accounting team.
- Hybrid work model: 2 days in-office per week, remaining days remote.
To ensure the best fit for both the candidate and Alabaster Co, this role will start as a part-time position for the first three months. This trial period will allow us to mutually assess the fit and performance before transitioning to a full-time role.
Requirements- Strong proficiency with accounting software (NetSuite preferred) and Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
