Controller and Financial Advisor
Boston Engineering Corporation is seeking an experienced financial professional to lead its financial and human resources operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, government contracting, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations, including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger
- Analyze financial data and present financial reports to senior management
- Provide financial leadership for annual budgeting and planning
- Oversee and manage month and year-end financial reporting close processes
- Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions
- Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations, including FAR and DCAA requirements
- Prepare for and coordinate audits, including DCAA audits and other government agency audits
- Manage all human resources operations, including personnel, benefits, performance, and training
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, MBA or CPA preferred
- 10+ years of accounting experience, 5+ years in a consulting organization
- 4+ years managing staff
- Government cost accounting experience required
- In-depth knowledge of government contracting regulations, including FAR and DCAA requirements
- Experience managing finance and contracts teams in accounting for projects according to FAR and DCAA guidelines
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Understanding of human resources and compliance
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency in Unanet, ERP systems, and MS Office
Location: Waltham, MA
