Job Overview

The Assistant Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the Teller Unit's daily functions, ensuring exceptional customer service while managing transactions and addressing client concerns. This position supports the Operations Supervisor in effectively leading all Teller unit operations, including technical assistance, team guidance, and staff development. In the absence of the Operations Supervisor, the Assistant Operations Supervisor takes full responsibility for the Teller unit and may also perform Teller duties during peak transaction periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Operations Supervisor in managing Teller unit activities, encouraging staff to deliver outstanding customer service while handling standard banking and client service tasks.
  • Act as a backup for the Operations Supervisor and Tellers as required.
  • Provide training and technical support to Tellers regarding operational procedures and relevant systems.
  • Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of all transactions.
  • Help manage work schedules and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Process standard banking transactions and resolve moderate customer inquiries.
  • Support cash management functions, including monitoring cash reserves, distributing and collecting cash from Tellers, and completing daily reconciliations.
  • Address immediate sales and service needs to minimize customer wait times.
  • Recommend appropriate Bank products and services that align with client requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Supervisor to assess staff performance and engage in the recruitment process.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant banking laws and regulations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) compliance.
  • Assist in the opening and closing procedures of the branch's cash vault.
  • Conduct ATM reconciliations and provide transaction approvals to Tellers when necessary.
  • Perform clerical duties and maintain organized records.
  • Adhere to the Bank's Code of Conduct and all internal policies and procedures.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of prior Teller experience is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential.
  • Excellent listening, communication (both verbal and written), and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt to technological advancements are necessary.
  • Exhibit courteous and friendly behavior at all times.
  • Possess a solid understanding of various Bank products and services.
  • Availability to work weekends and extended hours or at nearby branch locations when needed.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a high level of integrity.
  • Show a willingness to collaborate and engage in a team-oriented environment.
