The Associate Director of Corporate, Foundation, and Government Relations is a pivotal role on the Advancement team, responsible for securing financial support primarily from corporations and foundations, with a secondary focus on government agencies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead efforts to identify, cultivate, and secure funding from corporate and foundation donors for ongoing university projects.
- Oversee and support the Coordinator in facilitating faculty-driven research grant applications, focusing on enhancing faculty capabilities in seeking government and other research grants.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and program officers at funding organizations, ensuring a robust pipeline of funding opportunities.
- Strategically engage with university leadership and faculty to align funding opportunities with institutional priorities.
- Manage the preparation and submission of grant proposals, ensuring high-quality, compelling submissions.
- Supervise the CFGR Coordinator, providing guidance and oversight to their activities and ensuring their growth and development within the department.
- Maintain comprehensive records of grant activities including proposals, awards, and reports, ensuring compliance with all funder requirements.
- Develop and deliver training and workshops to faculty and staff on grant writing and funding acquisition.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to support the Advancement division's goals.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in fundraising, preferably within higher education.
- Demonstrated success in securing gifts and grants from corporate and foundation sources.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with an ability to manage complex projects and schedules.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write persuasively and clearly.
- Proficient in using fundraising databases, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams across the university.
- Experience in donor relations and engagement within a university setting.
- Knowledge of government grant mechanisms and regulations.
