Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Buyer to join our Buying Office team at Tootsies Inc. As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a critical role in supporting our buying team in procuring high-quality products for our stores.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Data Analysis: Collect and review financial data to ensure accuracy for strategic decisions, including analyzing class and vendor performance.
  • Vendor Communication: Assist in communicating with vendors to ensure timely receipt of goods and tracking orders.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor receipt flow and ensure proper inventory levels, communicating stock inadequacies to the buyer.
  • Buying Optimization: Optimize buying by store to maximize opportunities by market and follow up with appropriate allocation.
  • Reorder Management: Write and place reorders after consultation with the buyer.
  • Vendor Performance Analysis: Analyze vendor performance to identify product opportunities, trends, and offerings that will impact the business and provide results.
  • Product Selection and Assortment: Assist the buyer during product selection and assortment during market.
  • Seasonal Purchases: Enter all seasonal purchases accurately into the appropriate systems, meeting all deadlines.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Skills: Strong retail math skills, sense of urgency, confident, self-starter, quick learner, and motivated attitude.
  • Qualifications: High level of attention to detail, excellent interpersonal communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer skills.
  • Experience: 2 years minimum in buying office experience required; preferably in a luxury, retail environment.
