Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated individual who thrives in a fast-paced work environment. This is a full-time role with potential for advancement within our company.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Technician Level I is responsible for reporting to the Technical Manager and collaborating with the Production team to deliver precise and timely repairs and solutions. Technicians can progress from Level I to Level II based on their skills and comprehensive understanding of the equipment. Level II technicians are capable of handling repairs independently, requiring minimal guidance from Technician Level III or the Technical Manager. The ideal candidate will exhibit leadership qualities and support Technician I. Technician Level III is recognized as an expert in the equipment and seldom requires assistance from other Technician III's or the Technical Manager. The ideal candidate will take ownership of their work, managing processes from inception to completion, demonstrating organization, self-motivation, and exceptional problem-solving abilities. A thorough understanding of downstream processes and methods is crucial for career advancement as a technician. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, the ability to remain focused, effective time management and prioritization skills, and a resilient mindset. A valid driver's license is necessary. Work hours may include weekends and evenings.

EQUIPMENT & MAINTENANCE:

  • Notify Supervisors and Managers regarding equipment issues.
  • Operate all machinery in accordance with operational guidelines.
  • Recommend and present new equipment that could enhance operations.
  • Investigate and devise methods to improve existing machinery.
  • Adhere to Maintenance Plans for all equipment in the facility.
  • Interpret Electrical Schematics and Equipment Manuals.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to Electrical, Air, Water, Ink, and Natural Gas systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair various equipment, including Digital Printers.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proficient in utilizing a variety of tools, including DVOM.
  • Understand OSHA regulations.
  • Familiarity with MSDS/SDS documentation.
  • Assist the Technical Manager with additional responsibilities.
  • Engage in brainstorming sessions.
  • Offer suggestions and ideas to meet departmental needs.
  • Complete all tasks to ensure company objectives and customer satisfaction are achieved.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and software tools.
  • Manage multiple tasks effectively, even with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.

  • Adaptability to changing responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequent walking.
  • Ability to navigate stairs.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to varying climates.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in equipment repair.
  • Strong language, communication, and spelling skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
  • Understanding of printing terminology and practices.

Ability to comfortably use tools, possess knowledge of electrical systems, and demonstrate excellent hands-on troubleshooting skills.
