Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Technician Level I reports directly to the Technical Manager and collaborates with the Production team to deliver precise and timely repairs and solutions. Technicians can progress from Level I to Level II based on their skills and comprehensive knowledge of the equipment. Level II technicians are capable of handling repairs independently, requiring minimal assistance from Level III technicians or the Technical Manager. The ideal candidate will exhibit leadership qualities and support Technician I roles. Technician Level III is an expert in the equipment and seldom requires assistance from other Technician III's or the Technical Manager. The perfect candidate takes ownership of processes from start to finish, is organized, self-driven, and possesses excellent problem-solving abilities. A thorough understanding of downstream processes and methodologies is crucial for growth as a technician. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, effective time management, and a resilient mindset. A valid driver's license is necessary. Work hours may include weekends and evenings.

EQUIPMENT & MAINTENANCE:

  • Notify Supervisors and Managers of any equipment issues.
  • Operate all machinery according to established operating procedures.
  • Recommend and present new equipment that could enhance operations.
  • Investigate and develop strategies to improve existing machinery.
  • Adhere to Maintenance Plans for all equipment in the facility.
  • Interpret Electrical Schematics and Equipment Manuals.
  • Resolve issues related to Electrical, Air, Water, Ink, and Natural Gas systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment, including Digital Printers.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proficient in using a variety of tools, including DVOM.
  • Understand OSHA regulations.
  • Familiar with MSDS/SDS documentation.
  • Assist the Technical Manager with additional responsibilities.
  • Engage in brainstorming sessions.
  • Provide suggestions and ideas for departmental improvements.
  • Complete all tasks to ensure company objectives and customer satisfaction are achieved.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and software tools.
  • Manage multiple tasks effectively, even with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to use tools comfortably, possess knowledge of electrical systems, and demonstrate excellent hands-on troubleshooting skills.
