Overview
The primary objective of this role is to lead, mentor, and empower technical teams to effectively and safely manage facility operations, ensuring seamless workflow throughout the production process in alignment with service expectations and operational demands. This position is also responsible for strategically planning essential Preventative Maintenance (PM) initiatives and identifying necessary projects to enhance the future performance of both equipment and personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the scheduling and monitoring of all departmental activities during assigned shifts. Collaborate with fellow supervisors and the production management team to ensure efficient workflow coordination.
- Guide and develop non-exempt technical staff to meet daily performance standards while fostering teamwork.
- Implement company policies and procedures, adapting the team to new operational methods while ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.
- Supervise the functionality of production machinery involved in daily operations. Utilize various warehouse management systems to forecast and direct workflow, understanding the implications of decisions on overall operations.
- Assist in establishing objectives and strategies, along with daily tactical planning and workforce management.
- Develop performance metrics for teams and identify necessary inputs and outputs to enhance performance outcomes.
- Plan daily activities for work groups to optimize resource utilization.
- Maintain comprehensive records for each employee, tracking attendance, vacation requests, regulatory compliance, and other confidential information.
- Establish and manage Preventative Maintenance programs and schedules.
- Promote, educate, and enforce facility safety protocols and policies.
Qualifications

- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Outlook and other MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Experience with Maintenance Inventory and Management Software (e.g., E-Maintenance, Infor).
- Able to execute tactical plans in support of strategic objectives.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends, totaling over 40 hours per week with potential mandatory overtime.
- Strong communication skills to keep the team informed, motivated, and engaged.
- High interpersonal skills to unify a diverse team.
- Familiarity with Material Handling controls and PLC systems.
- Expertise in facility safety standards, with a proven track record of injury prevention.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Engineering studies with 2 years of supervisory experience, or 5 years of maintenance experience plus an additional 5 years in a supervisory role.
