Job Responsibilities:

The Ground Support Equipment Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and operational readiness of various ground support machinery.

This position entails diagnosing mechanical problems, conducting routine maintenance, and performing repairs on equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and ground power units.

Ensure that all machinery complies with safety and operational standards and is readily available for use.

Maintain precise records of maintenance tasks and collaborate with the ground support team to efficiently resolve any equipment-related issues.


WHAT TO EXPECT AS A GSE TECHNICIAN:
  • Collaborate as part of a team towards shared objectives.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on diverse ground support machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical challenges in ground support equipment.
  • Utilize a variety of tools and equipment for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures diligently during maintenance activities.
  • Maintain detailed logs of maintenance tasks, repairs, and parts utilized.
  • Respond swiftly to service requests and urgent repair needs.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift 70 pounds or more.
  • Ability to hear and respond to spoken communication and audible alarms.
  • Visual acuity for close and distant vision, color recognition, and depth perception.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • At least 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, preferably with ground support equipment in aviation.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication abilities and teamwork orientation.
  • Physical capability to perform manual tasks in various environmental conditions.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Comfortable using computers and mobile devices.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening.
  • Eligibility to obtain necessary credentials and clearances.
