Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our team in the Middle East. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing medical services to patients in various settings, including field health units, small medical/trauma hospitals, and large medical/trauma hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform emergency skills, such as managing respiratory, trauma, and cardiac emergencies, and patient assessment.
  • Provide medical services at the scope and level of a Paramedic to preserve the health of employees and client personnel.
  • Systematically assess the urgent or emergent health needs of patients, analyze data, and formulate a plan of care, with other members of the medical team, which is realistic in relation to the employee's capabilities and job requirements.
  • Recognize and treat illnesses and injuries according to established operating instructions within the scope of licensure and regulations of state employment or practice.
  • Measure and record vital signs, collect specimens, and escort patients and visitors.
  • Prepare examining rooms, select and lay out medical supplies, maintain medical equipment.
  • Record and report patient information.
  • Record and maintain patient information in accordance with standard protocols, and the Privacy Act.
  • Pursue professional development activities and continuing education to ensure currency with present practices and trends in healthcare and specifically in the practice of emergency medical treatment.
  • Protect patients' privacy through confidentiality, infection control procedures, assuring consistent medication administration, and assuring proper storage and maintenance procedures for all equipment and supplies.
  • Identify and record the signs and symptoms of physical and mental conditions.
  • Thoroughly exercise skill in initiative, judgment, problem-solving and decision-making daily.
  • Make independent judgments and prioritize workload.
  • Monitor reconciliation of financial transactions and ensure contract charges are applied uniformly.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3 years minimum, recent experience as a Paramedic.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and continuing education leading to a degree, certification, training as an Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic.
  • Hold and maintain an active and unrestricted State Paramedic License, free from any pending adverse actions and the ability to be favorably credentialed by Acuity policy.
  • Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS), Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), or Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), or Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC).
  • Must have valid US Passport.
  • National Register – Paramedic is preferred and some positions will require NR-P.
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required.
  • Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.
  • All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months out of the past year.

Other Requirements

  • Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver's License.
  • Must have a valid US Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.
  • Requires a favorable security background check and drug screen.
  • Must sign an International Assignment Agreement (IAA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the IAA.
  • Must be current in all required certifications.
  • Shall attend a Pre-deployment Counter Terrorism training course prior to deployment.
  • Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write and communicate in English.
  • Shall demonstrate proficiency in the use of basic word processing programs and the Acuity Medical Management Systems software.
  • Normal workweek is established by the Program Manager.
  • Performs duties in a safe manner and follows the corporate safety policy.
  • Participates in and supports safety meetings, training, and goals.
  • Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
