Job Summary:

Acuity International is seeking a highly skilled Physician to join our team in a Medical Specialist role. As a Medical Specialist, you will be responsible for providing medical care to patients in a variety of settings, including non-surgical/field medical care clinics and small medical/trauma hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical care to patients in a variety of settings, including non-surgical/field medical care clinics and small medical/trauma hospitals.
  • Treat patients to ensure proper injury care and disease diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
  • Request necessary tests and follow-up visits and refer patients to specialists as necessary.
  • Coordinate with local hospitals to determine local capabilities, coordinate admission, monitor, and arrange final disposition.
  • Stabilize patients and coordinate evacuation to medevac centers or CONUS as needed.
  • Provide a US standard of care for our patient care/treatment model.
  • Maintain the highest regard for patient dignity and observe the precepts of the American Hospital Association's Bill of Rights for patients.
  • Document care delivered and follow-up care required.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specific knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements.

Requirements:

  • Must hold and maintain board certification as a Family Medicine Specialist, Emergency Medicine Specialist, or Internal Medicine Specialist.
  • 3 years minimum as a US licensed attending Physician is required, with additional training and/or experience in GYN, dermatology, ENT, pulmonary, cardiovascular, ophthalmology, medical, surgical, orthopedic, psychiatric, and trauma emergency also required.
  • Must hold a current and unrestricted US State Medical License, with state licenses in good standing, without restrictions, and kept current through the period of employment.
  • Must have and maintain current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and DEA License.
  • Must have a valid US passport.
  • Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) or comparable advanced trauma course featuring 'live tissue' or exceptional simulation training is preferred.
  • Must have current clinical experience in the last 6 months with direct patient care as an attending Physician.

Other Requirements:

  • Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver's License.
  • Must have a valid US Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.
  • Requires a favorable security background check and drug screen.
  • Must sign an International Assignment Agreement (IAA) and be bound to the terms and conditions of the IAA.
  • Must be current in all required certifications.
  • Shall attend a Pre-deployment Counter Terrorism training course prior to deployment.
  • Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write, and communicate in English.
  • Shall demonstrate proficiency in the use of basic word processing programs and the Acuity Medical Management Systems software.
  • Normal workweek is established by the Program Manager.
  • Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write, and communicate in English.
  • Performs duties in a safe manner and follows the corporate safety policy.
  • Participates in and supports safety meetings, training, and goals.
  • Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be 'medically and dentally fit' in accordance with Acuity Medical Readiness Guidelines and Policies and/or as dictated by the Client.
  • No conditions that would prevent the wear of personal protective equipment, including protective mask, ballistic helmet, body armor, and chemical/biological protective garments, or conditions that would prevent the capability of donning, lifting, or carrying up to 70 lbs. of referenced gear while running to a bunker or protected area in the face of perceived or imminent danger.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment; travel in Iraq is required by surface or air.
