Clinical Operations Manager for Pediatric Care

ChildServe is seeking a Clinical Operations Manager to oversee care and staff performance in our specialized medical care units.

This position is accountable for formulating policies and procedures related to patient care in collaboration with the leadership team, ensuring adherence to both internal and external regulations, standards, and accreditations for the inpatient unit.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the team through effective recruitment, training, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
  • Foster staff development to achieve optimal outcomes and enhance engagement and satisfaction to improve retention rates.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team on admissions, patient care, and discharge processes.
  • Oversee the creation, modification, and execution of individualized care plans for each child, ensuring that the objectives set by the care team, child, and family are met.
  • Guarantee that clinical care is delivered in accordance with best practices as outlined in ChildServe's policies and operational manuals, including infection control and safety protocols.
  • Implement and assess unit-specific quality enhancement initiatives and activities.
  • Evaluate and ensure appropriate staffing levels in line with care requirements.
  • Develop the unit's Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and spearhead the execution of initiatives.
  • Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders (staff, families, and other internal and external partners) to facilitate effective information exchange and risk management.
  • Assist in the formulation of the unit budget, ensuring judicious spending and managing occupancy to meet established goals.

Qualifications:

Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and possess a valid RN license in the State of Iowa; a BSN is preferred.

Minimum of five years of nursing experience in pediatrics, rehabilitation, or with children having complex medical needs.

At least two years of supervisory nursing experience is required.

Specialty nursing certifications are preferred (CPN, CBIS, CRRN).

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing.
