Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee the commissioning of critical electrical systems within data centers for a leading technology organization. This role will manage the commissioning activities for power generation and distribution systems, uninterruptible power supplies, automatic transfer switches, power distribution units, and medium voltage switchgear. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of electrical power systems or equivalent industry experience, coupled with strong communication abilities.

This position entails significant travel requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and document commissioning policies, scripts, and procedures.
  • Validate the installation of electrical equipment.
  • Conduct construction observations and create comprehensive testing plans.
  • Perform tests on a diverse range of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with established standards and specifications.
  • Act as the liaison between clients, contractors, and vendors throughout all phases of commissioning projects.
  • Analyze data and compile technical reports.
  • Review design documents and equipment submissions.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical power distribution, particularly within data centers.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is preferred; however, other engineering disciplines, a two-year degree, military training, or equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • A strong aptitude for leadership in ambiguous situations, especially regarding construction and electrical operational challenges.
  • Exceptional organizational skills along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications is essential.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, motivated by deadlines, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with building codes and construction industry standards.
  • Experience in quality control of electrical construction documentation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam is advantageous.
