Stability Direct is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of duties in preparing patients for imaging of particular organs to furnish diagnostic information.
  • Operate various nuclear medicine equipment to produce diagnostic results and measure therapeutic radioactive materials in specific body areas.
  • Monitor and record all radioactive materials received in the department for leakage or damage.
  • Maintain and document all records as required by NRC and DEP.
  • Prepare radioactive doses and materials for daily patient administration.
  • Maintain quality control procedures on all equipment.
  • Operate all nuclear imaging equipment and ancillary equipment thoroughly and with competence.
  • Perform all Nuclear Medicine procedures as outlined in the manual.
  • Assist physician in performing procedures and computer enhancing of images.
  • Responsibilities will require the ability to read, write and rationally comprehend the English language.
  • Select proper techniques in imaging on an individual patient basis.
  • Maintain records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients.
  • Consult with patients to obtain a complete clinical history. Gather pertinent clinical data.
  • Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, evening/ weekend hours in order to meet the operational needs of the Department and/or Hospital.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities set forth by administrative staff.
  • Review patient charts for proper exam of physician's orders.
  • Schedule cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
  • Protect self and patients from injury and unnecessary radiation through direct visual observation.
  • Differentiate anatomical abnormalities, notify Radiologist.
  • Clinically instruct any students rotating through Nuclear Medicine.
  • Perform all computer processing and imaging to ensure quality enhancement.
  • Troubleshoot any problems that occur with equipment before calling for service.
  • Participate in \"on-call\" rotation in accordance with the needs of the department.
  • Rotate to all shifts as needed.
  • Assist and transport patients in emergency situations to designated areas. Arrange for transportation to and from nursing units.
  • Adjust personal schedule in case of fluctuations in workload of the department.
  • Demonstrate ability to recognize priorities and deal with them promptly.
  • Attend all staff meetings.
  • Report any suggestions or opportunities for improvement to manager.
  • Comply with CE guidelines set forth by ARRT and/or NMTCB.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA approved Nuclear Medicine Program Required.
  • Training and experience in radiation safety and protection Required.
  • NJDEP License - Nuclear Medicine Technology Upon Hire Required.
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire Required or NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine Tech Upon Hire Required.
  • NJDEP Limited CT Fusion License within 1 Year Required.
Work Schedule

Full Time. Days - M-F 8a-5:30p, no weekends.
