X-Ray Technologist

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures to help diagnose or decide the optimal procedure for patients.
- Create a comfortable and tranquil environment for patients to ensure they adhere to examination instructions.
- Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and ensure proper file identification.
- Demonstrate competency in performing all radiographic procedures and operating related equipment.
- Provide excellent patient care, protecting patients from excessive radiation and observing vital signs during examinations.
- Provide coverage as needed, including call-outs and extended patient schedules.
- Provide instruction and mentoring to new hires.
- Maintain CPR certification and perform procedures in compliance with Standards of Care, facility, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain quality standards related to HIPAA regulations.
- Demonstrate a positive patient experience, sharing information with patients and ensuring they're aware of follow-up steps and requirements.
- Demonstrate a positive experience for referring providers, providing excellent quality.
- Consistently submit images of diagnostic quality without recommending additional image acquisition.
- Perform quality assurance on images and equipment, demonstrating competency in utilizing systems.
- Make authoritative decisions after contemplating various courses of action.
- Contribute to efficient outpatient operations, maximizing productivity of assigned modalities.
- Utilize sterile techniques to prevent contamination.
- Review each examination for technical accuracy, present completed examinations to radiologists, and communicate pertinent data to responsible parties.
- Demonstrate teamwork, interacting positively with employees and contributing to a collaborative work environment.
- Meet or exceed deadlines, demonstrating accountability, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Enhance professional growth and maintain certifications, registration, and active CMEs through education programs, conferences, and workshops.
- Maintain the cleanliness of examination rooms.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- ARRT certified.
- Demonstrated ability to use or learn the department's computerized system and associated devices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or Baccalaureate degree in radiography, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine.
- 1+ years of experience as a general radiologic technologist.
- Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with patients, visitors, and employees within the organization.
Physical Demands:
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to lift patients weighing up to 300 pounds and place them in appropriate positions for equipment operation.
- Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment and review developed films.
