Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

Job Description
Per Diem Diagnostic Imaging Technologist
Key Responsibilities:
- Must currently be licensed in at least two of the following modalities: Cat Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, or PETCT.
- Perform diagnostic examinations with a deep understanding of anatomical positioning, modality protocols, and equipment to produce optimum results.
- Assume accountability for managing delivery of care and patient safety.
- Ensure proper identification of patients' demographics.
- Communicate with attending Radiologists and verify provider orders.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation.
- Maintain exam room cleanliness after exams and procedures, adhering to infection control standards.
- Prioritize and organize work assignments, adjusting priorities based on changing situations.
- Familiarize yourself with the location of emergency equipment and medications to assist in treating contrast reactions and other emergencies.
- Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
- Operate imaging equipment properly, safely, and efficiently.
- Demonstrate awareness of Radiation Safety procedures for self and others.
- Replenish supplies in assigned areas as needed.
- Ensure equipment is in acceptable condition by conducting routine quality control checks, following department standards for reporting equipment malfunctions or problems.
- Accurately prepare and assist in the administration of contrast materials (IV and/or oral).
- Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with safety, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
- Obtain and document patient history and pertinent information.
- Assess patients for potential risks or contraindications to IV contrast.
- Attend departmental meetings.
- 1-3 years of experience preferred.
- Licensed by NJ State DEP.
- Graduated from an accredited Radiography program.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies.
- BLS certification is required; IV certification preferred.
- The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required.
- Advanced computer skills, including email, Microsoft applications, and the ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record Systems, RIS, and PACS Systems.
