This position allows for a combination of remote work and travel, with a schedule of Monday to Friday during standard business hours.As a Healthcare Case Management Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of injured workers and their families.
You will collaborate closely with patients, their families, healthcare providers, and our internal team members.This position involves significant local travel, managing a caseload of workers' compensation cases within a specified area.
Your responsibilities will include providing comprehensive Medical Case Management through both in-person and telephonic interactions with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Utilizing your nursing expertise, you will assess and discuss current treatment plans with physicians and explore alternative options.
You will evaluate the appropriateness, medical necessity, and cost-effectiveness of treatment plans.You will also be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient progress.
Participation in discharge planning meetings at hospitals or long-term care facilities will be essential to determine the suitability of care and to develop effective long-term care strategies.
You will facilitate care by coordinating the delivery of necessary medical equipment and nursing services.This role requires regular travel based on the needs of the injured workers, with local travel expected to be around 60% of your work schedule.
Overnight travel may also be necessary.
Ideal candidates will have experience as a registered nurse or in Medical Case Management, with a clinical background in orthopedics, neurology, or rehabilitation being advantageous.
You should be comfortable meeting with patients, their healthcare providers, attorneys, and colleagues.A background in cost containment, such as utilization review or managed care, is beneficial.
Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office including Excel, is required.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing program and hold a current RN license in their state of operation.
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential for travel to various locations.
Compensation is determined based on various factors, including federal, state, and local wage requirements, geographic location, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.
