Position Overview

This role is designated for a Command Program Support Specialist, tasked with overseeing the execution and management of various Army National Guard (ARNG) initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level administrative support in the planning, coordination, and implementation of ARNG programs within the Command Administrative Officer's purview.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of regulatory frameworks related to command structures and state-level authorizations.
  • Administer the State Internal Control Program and oversee the execution of additional state-level initiatives as assigned.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with operational managers to resolve recurring issues.
  • Act as a special project officer when designated, initiating new projects to enhance program management.
  • Review and coordinate various recurring surveys and reports generated by key staff members, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Gather and analyze background information, collaborate with higher headquarters, and present alternative solutions to support command-level decision-making.
Qualifications

General Experience: Candidates must demonstrate a foundational understanding of organizational principles, management, and administration, including experience in report compilation and effective communication.

Specialized Experience: Applicants should possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level, focusing on program management, policy development, and operational evaluation.

Experience in supervisory or technical roles that involve analysis leading to improvements in administrative practices is essential. Written and oral communication skills are critical for success in this position.

All relevant experience, including volunteer work, will be considered in the evaluation process.

Additional Information

This position may require irregular hours to meet operational needs and is designated as Essential Personnel, subject to duty during state emergencies or disaster declarations.
