Job Summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Sports Program Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for implementing the Y Positive Play Initiative (YPPI) - Y on the Fly mobile components for the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit service area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and implement YPPI programs at designated sites, ensuring high-quality delivery and excellent customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including program participation, attendance, and evaluation data.
  • Collaborate with the YPPI site team, Program Supervisor, and community partners to promote program awareness and engagement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations, schools, and government agencies to expand program reach and impact.
  • Assist with program development, including designing and implementing new programs and services.
  • Provide training and support to staff, interns, and volunteers to ensure program quality and consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with all YMCA policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., recreation, education, youth development) or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a recreation or youth development setting, preferably with a focus on program implementation and management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
