**Job Summary**

DS Smith is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Manager to support our packaging plants in Asheboro and Holly Springs. As a key member of our HR team, you will serve as a business partner to our plant leaders, driving recruitment and onboarding activities, employee development, and employee relations.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Partner with plant leaders to drive recruitment and talent acquisition strategies, identifying top talent for hourly and salaried positions.

• Support employee development by assisting managers in assessing and identifying resources to meet employee and departmental training needs, promoting continuous skill development.

• Counsel and/or coach employees and managers on employee relations issues, including performance management, conflict resolution, and discipline.

• Drive employee retention, engagement, and satisfaction, balancing employee concerns with company goals.

• Support recognition and sustainability programs, promoting a positive work environment.

• Consult with functional leaders on organization assessment, succession planning, organizational structure, and workforce planning, strengthening overall organizational capability.

• Ensure alignment of HR processes with strategic and operating goals, driving business results.

• Manage the payroll process, data changes, and employee benefits, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

• Oversee annual performance and salary reviews, variable pay programs, and Workers Compensation, FMLA, and STD claims.

• Stay up-to-date on relevant employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and accurate record retention.

• Manage regulatory requirements, including OSHA compliance and Equal Employment Opportunity.

**Qualifications**

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field, Master's degree preferred.

• 5-7 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in manufacturing.

• Comprehensive HR experience, including a deep understanding of HR functions in a dynamic environment.

• Experience working across a complex organizational matrix, with a bias for action.

• Proven ability to analyze labor processes and techniques, with expertise in state and federal labor laws and regulations.

• Analytical techniques applied to labor management and retention, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
