Position Overview

The role of a Mobile Crisis Management Professional encompasses a comprehensive range of support, services, and treatments essential for delivering integrated crisis response, stabilization interventions, and prevention strategies. Our Mobile Crisis Management Services operate around the clock, ensuring availability every day of the year. This position is pivotal in providing timely evaluations, triage, and access to acute mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services. Furthermore, it focuses on treatment aimed at symptom and harm reduction, effectively guiding individuals in acute crises toward suitable stabilization and detoxification resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver crisis intervention services to recipients 24/7.
  • Oversee clinical aspects of crisis interventions as necessary.
  • Conduct immediate telephonic assessments to evaluate crises, determining risk, mental status, and medical stability; provide in-person assessments when required.
  • Create and update Crisis Plans for new recipients entering the public service system.
  • Secure authorization for additional services after the initial 32 units of service.
  • Document daily service notes for each event of service provided.
  • Facilitate transitions across various levels of care, coordinating discharge planning and community reintegration following hospitalization or residential services.
  • Monitor and manage psychiatric and addiction symptoms presented by recipients.
  • Connect recipients to appropriate services, including transportation when necessary.
  • Timely submission of documentation to designated personnel as required.
  • Uphold the self-respect, dignity, and safety of each recipient.
  • Collaborate effectively with all staff and maintain positive relationships with recipients and their families.
  • Participate in mandatory staff meetings and consumer conferences or provide advance notice if unable to attend.
  • Report any changes in a recipient's condition or family situation to appropriate personnel.
  • Immediately report any incidents or accidents to the Mobile Crisis Director or Designee.
  • Notify the Mobile Crisis Director or Designee of any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of recipients.
  • Familiarize oneself with Therapeutic Alternatives policies and procedures, including emergency service protocols and medication administration regulations.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure the rights of consumers are upheld and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Complete all required training mandated by the agency.
  • Perform additional duties as circumstances dictate.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a license as a Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychologist, or Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field outside of human services.
  • A minimum of four years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree experience in mental health, developmental disabilities, or substance abuse with the relevant population.
  • At least one year of experience in crisis management services in settings such as assertive outreach or emergency departments.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, understanding, and following directions.
  • Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver's License, maintained throughout employment.
  • Clear DMV record, maintained throughout employment.
  • Minimum of eight years of driving experience, as required by the company's liability insurance.
  • No substantiated findings on the North Carolina Health Care Registry.
