Production Director

About the Role

Georgia-Pacific's Corrugated division is seeking a seasoned leader to manage our facility in Asheboro, NC. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of employees in a non-union environment, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the production facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to the operating floor, focusing on compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance operations personnel's skills in safety, quality, production, problem-solving, and technical communication.
• Align operational priorities with commercial business objectives, ensuring the production and delivery of high-quality products at the lowest costs.
• Partner with plant leadership to enhance facility performance and metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives and developing innovative practices.
• Create and maintain a cohesive team of leaders, providing coaching and development opportunities.
• Maintain a positive work environment for all employees, fostering open communication and collaboration.
• Engage with employees on the floor, overseeing plant operations and ensuring the effective execution of production plans.

Requirements

• Supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing, military, or industrial environment.
• Proven track record of setting and achieving production and continuous improvement goals.
• Corrugated or converting packaging manufacturing operations leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Experience partnering with maintenance departments to meet reliability goals.
• Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
• Knowledge of equipment servicing, planning/scheduling, supply chain management, mechanical maintenance, plant engineering, quality, and corrugator/converting processes and equipment.
