POSITION OBJECTIVE:

To ensure the safety of all guests and staff while safeguarding and overseeing the hotel’s property and assets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Act as a representative of the hotel to all patrons, both internal and external, by demonstrating enthusiasm and embodying the values of The Marcus Corporation.
  2. Welcome guests and team members, assisting them in navigating the hotel facilities.
  3. Identify and report unsafe practices, recommending appropriate corrective measures.
  4. Maintain accurate records in logbooks and activity sheets.
  5. Engage in routine patrols and fulfill daily operational duties.
  6. Monitor surveillance systems for any suspicious behavior.
  7. Participate as a member of the emergency response team.
  8. Assist guests with access to keys and safes.
  9. Answer phone calls professionally, addressing inquiries from guests and staff.
  10. Keep the office environment organized and tidy.
  11. Engage with hotel surveys, including guest satisfaction surveys, and assist in managing responses.
  12. Attend monthly safety meetings and various annual gatherings across the hotel.
  13. Screen and identify visitors at service entrances, issuing and collecting passes as per established protocols. Acknowledge departing guests and staff, conducting bag checks when necessary.
  14. Oversee the distribution and return of keys and equipment to staff members.
  15. Administer first aid and CPR as needed, contacting appropriate authorities and preparing necessary reports.
  16. Transport guests using company vehicles, adhering to safe driving practices.
  17. Assist with the handling of luggage, packages, and supplies as required.
  18. Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of vehicles, reporting any mechanical issues to management.
  19. Witness cash handling procedures.
  20. Respond to alarms and emergency situations following hotel protocols, maintaining composure and vigilance.
  21. Assist guests and staff with securing and opening doors.
  22. Adhere to all policies and procedures of The Marcus Corporation, including safety standards and information protection protocols.
  23. Effectively interact with both internal and external customers, demonstrating patience, tact, and diplomacy to resolve conflicts and gather accurate information.
  24. Represent the hotel with professionalism and respect.
  25. Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent is required; prior experience in hospitality, guest services, or security is preferred.
  2. Must be reliable and flexible to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, while maintaining composure under pressure.
  3. Strong attention to detail is essential.
  4. Ability to address guest and employee concerns positively and effectively, demonstrating empathy and providing proactive solutions.
  5. Excellent communication skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  6. Capability to stand and move throughout the facility to perform essential functions.
  7. Ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations through keen hearing and visual acuity.
  8. Exceptional interpersonal skills are required.
  9. A valid Driver's License and a clean driving record are necessary according to company policy.
  10. Strong telephone etiquette is essential.
  11. Must present oneself in a professional, well-groomed, and courteous manner.
