Overview:

Greater Omaha Packing is seeking a dedicated Safety and Security Specialist to oversee the surveillance of our facilities and ensure the safety of our employees and visitors. This role is essential in identifying suspicious activities and preventing vandalism, theft, or other unlawful actions. You will be tasked with enforcing security protocols, maintaining a vigilant presence, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage access to the facility by monitoring entry points and the perimeter.
  • Authorize the entry of vehicles and individuals onto the property.
  • Conduct regular patrols to maintain order and establish a visible presence.
  • Prepare reports on daily surveillance activities and significant incidents.
  • Investigate suspicious behavior or items.
  • Respond to alarms by assessing and addressing the situation.
  • Implement and uphold security policies and procedures to meet regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Act promptly and effectively during incidents, emergencies, or suspicious activities, following established protocols and collaborating with emergency services and management.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Build rapport with employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Escort individuals off the premises when necessary.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a security role or similar position.
  • Knowledge of report writing, access control, surveillance systems, and emergency response procedures.
  • Strong observational skills with the ability to quickly assess situations and identify threats.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, lift up to 75 lbs, and perform security duties for extended periods.
  • Understanding of legal guidelines and regulations related to security.
  • Ability to maintain integrity, a calm demeanor, and reliability while ensuring safety for the organization.
