Job Summary

The Student Technical Support Assistant provides technical support to students and staff at Davenport University, ensuring seamless access to technology resources. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving issues related to network logins, Wi-Fi connections, and other technical matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to students and staff, addressing issues with network logins, Wi-Fi connections, and other technical matters.
  • Work closely with the ITS Customer Support Team to resolve student hardware and software issues.
  • Log all calls in the online problem tracking and reporting system.
  • Investigate and recommend solutions to improve support for Davenport University students.
  • Track recurring problems and provide recommendations for solutions.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure resolution of problems and complete customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Associates degree recommended, but not required.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits as an undergraduate student or 3 credits as a graduate student.
  • Must be meeting Standards of Academic Progress (SAP).
  • Minimum of one year of network, PC hardware/software, and help desk experience desirable.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, related applications, and Google apps.
  • Ability to effectively plan, develop goals, meet deadlines, and accomplish goals while prioritizing workloads.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that transcend diverse audiences.
Work Environment

The Student Technical Support Assistant will work in a business office environment, with prolonged sitting and standing. The use of personal computers and telephones may cause eye and hand strain.
