Job Description

**Job Summary**

The Area Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Locate Team at Stake Center Locating. This role will involve supervising a team of Locate Supervisors, ensuring the efficient distribution of workloads, and maintaining excellent customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor a team of Locate Supervisors to ensure they are meeting performance expectations and providing excellent customer service.
  • Workload Distribution: Oversee the distribution of workloads to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Customer Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, including utility representatives, contractors, and homeowners.
  • Corporate Interaction: Collaborate with corporate teams to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • IT and Purchasing: Work with the IT and purchasing teams to ensure that all necessary equipment and technology are available to support team operations.
  • Disciplinary Action: Oversee disciplinary actions, including inspections of vehicles and equipment, and ensure that all necessary procedures are followed.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews with team members to ensure they are meeting performance expectations.
  • Damage Resolution: Assist in resolving damage issues, including interpreting reports and working with customers to find solutions.
  • Locate Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the Locate Team, including ensuring that all necessary procedures are followed and that team members are meeting performance expectations.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Experience: Must have experience in effective leadership in the locating industry.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of underground utility construction and placement is required.
  • Training and Certification: Must successfully complete company-provided Locate Technician training program and pass all required testing.
  • Availability: Must be available to work long hours, including weekends and holidays, and may require travel, including overnight stays and out-of-town assignments.
  • Computer Skills: Must have above-average computer skills.
  • Experience: Three to five years' experience in the locating industry is required.
