Position Summary

PNE Construction (PNEC), a division of Pacific Northern Environmental LLC, is in search of a dedicated Project Engineer who excels in a dynamic, collaborative environment and is committed to delivering outstanding service to our organization and clients.

Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC operates through four specialized divisions: Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET), Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS), Pacific Northern Environmental Construction (PNEC), and WasteXpress Environmental (WXE). Collectively, we focus on commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical services, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste management. PNE LLC has established offices across various states.

PNE Construction is a comprehensive design-build contractor, equipped to manage and execute a wide range of projects. Our foundation is built on the expertise of our employees and their extensive experience in the industry. Each project is approached with diligence and completed under our guiding principle, All About Solutions.

The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of PNEC's projects by overseeing a variety of essential tasks and processes. The ideal candidate will be adept at juggling multiple priorities, supporting project managers and teams, and guiding projects through every phase until completion.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction engineering or equivalent experience is mandatory.
  • 1-2 years of experience in construction engineering is essential.
  • Understanding of construction trade principles, techniques, and procedures is necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel/stay long-term in the designated work area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and verify that blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings are accurately followed, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist the Project Manager in coordinating on-site construction activities and communication among all stakeholders.
  • Monitor daily operations for quality assurance, swiftly identifying and resolving issues as they arise, and reporting job status as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with job site safety protocols at all times.
  • Provide technical support to the team, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to formulate project plans and specifications.
  • Manage daily project updates, including RFIs, submittals, and scheduling tasks.
  • Oversee all documentation and project control systems, ensuring proper distribution, review, and storage of necessary documents.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the project budget and identify potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Ability to navigate the job site as required.
  • Capable of lifting work-related equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Proficient in operating various technological devices, including computers.
  • Occasional need to ascend/descend ladders and stairs.
