Position Overview:
As the Environmental Specialist for the Circular Economy Program, you will play a pivotal role in promoting environmental design and due diligence related to Eastman's second molecular recycling facility in the U.S.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with project teams, Environmental Affairs, and local HSE teams to align application needs with design and operational impacts.
2. Collect and guide best practice designs, ensuring optimal management of plant waste streams while adhering to regulatory standards.
3. Engage in engineering reviews, process hazard analyses (PHAs), and 3D model assessments to gather essential inputs for your deliverables.
4. Transition into pre-start-up reviews, commissioning checks, and operational compliance program implementation.

Permit Management:
Support timely permit submissions for circular economy investments, ensuring accuracy to minimize rework.

Project Coordination:
Transform complex challenges into manageable environmental project programs, facilitating collaboration among investment areas and various stakeholders.

Engineering Deliverables:
Assist in developing, communicating, and tracking necessary engineering deliverables for licensing and legal compliance.

Design Facilitation:
Help develop designs or programs that balance permit success with economic project impacts, including evaluations of best-available control technologies and necessary engineering modifications.

Regulatory Compliance:
Provide timely estimates of air, water, and waste to support regulatory requirements, ensuring all necessary information is available for permit completion.

Collaboration:
Work alongside other environmental resources within the company to benchmark and identify best practices.

Documentation:
Draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) for environmental compliance programs to ensure effective operation post-mechanical completion.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, manufacturing, or environmental roles requiring interaction with manufacturing facilities.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations in a chemical manufacturing context.
- Familiarity with TCEQ requirements.
- Proven ability to implement and execute established plans and procedures effectively.
- Basic computer skills, including database management, spreadsheets, and presentation preparation.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to engage with all levels of the organization and external partners.
- Ability to simplify complex information and adapt to changing priorities swiftly.
- Excellent organizational skills and a practical approach to resolving environmental issues.
