Job Title: Strategic Account Representative
Location: Duluth, MN
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Account Representative to join our team at ALLETE. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for managing relationships between the Company and assigned municipal, large light & power, and large power customer accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing relationships between the Company and assigned municipal, large light & power, and large power customer accounts.
- Provide effective customer service, manage conflict, and respond to a wide variety of changing customer needs and challenges.
- Build an understanding of the customers business and develop the accounts at multiple levels under supervision.
- Collect and help analyze data, perform market research, assist in evaluating market trends, and gather competitive intelligence to grow understanding of customers business, assist in developing contracts, and assist in forming recommendations for new value-added products and services.
- Requires strong level of interpersonal and communication skills to develop and enhance working relationships with customers, as well as to advocate for customer needs within the Company.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree required, preferably in business administration, marketing, finance, economics, accounting, engineering, communications, or a related field.
- Four years or more of related experience in account management, marketing, finance, engineering, sales, customer service, or related fields where building strong relationships is required.
- Must possess or have ability to gain public speaking skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, creativity, flexibility, and ability to learn new tasks and to grasp new concepts quickly.
- Technical proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Business savvy and knowledge of budgeting, finance, and accounting concepts.
- Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.
- The position requires travel to different customer facilities and project sites.
