Family Medicine Residency Program Core Faculty Physician

Position Overview
We are seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Core Faculty Physician for our Family Medicine Residency Program. This role is primarily based at our Whittier Clinic, situated in a dynamic and diverse community.
The ideal candidate will be a BC/BE Allopathic or Osteopathic Family Medicine physician with a passion for both inpatient (including Obstetrics) and outpatient care, as well as a commitment to clinical education for residents and medical students. A strong academic background is essential, encompassing curriculum design, assessment, mentorship, and scholarly contributions. There are also leadership roles available within the residency program.
We encourage applicants who are dedicated to serving medically underserved populations. While experience in osteopathic manipulative medicine, research, or proficiency in common Family Medicine procedures is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Each faculty member is invited to cultivate a specialized area of expertise to enhance the research and/or residency curriculum. Core faculty members are expected to complete the Faculty Development Fellowship through the University of Minnesota within their initial two years of employment.
About the Program
Established in 1969, our program is recognized for its excellence in training well-rounded residents for outpatient clinical practice, obstetrical care, and inpatient services for underserved communities. Faculty members hold academic appointments in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Minnesota, actively participating in the education of medical students through our inpatient services and at the Whittier Clinic, the hub of the Family Medicine Residency. The program offers diverse opportunities in holistic and integrative medicine, women's health, sports medicine, geriatrics, diabetes education, and international health. Our Whittier Clinic provides onsite services including acupuncture, physical therapy, behavioral health, and chiropractic care.
HHS supports a variety of residency and fellowship programs, emphasizing resident leadership and a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.
