Assistant Professor in Family Medicine Education

Position Overview:
The University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a dedicated Assistant Professor to contribute to our Family Medicine Residency Program. This role is pivotal in shaping the next generation of family medicine practitioners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clinical education and supervision to medical residents and students across various training environments, including outpatient clinics and hospitals.
- Conduct educational sessions such as seminars, lectures, and workshops to enhance resident learning.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to residents and medical students, fostering their professional development.
- Engage in comprehensive patient care, encompassing the full spectrum of family medicine, with a focus on obstetrics.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and assessment of educational curricula.
- Fulfill administrative responsibilities, including involvement in faculty meetings, committee work, and accreditation processes, while representing the program at relevant professional gatherings.
Qualifications:
Required:
- MD or DO degree.
- Completion of a Family Medicine residency program.
- Board certification in Family Medicine.
- Eligibility for licensure in Minnesota.
Preferred:
- A minimum of three years of clinical experience post-residency.
- Experience in medical education and teaching.
- Background in educational program development and evaluation.
- Involvement in scholarly activities and mentoring of trainees.
- Experience working with diverse and historically marginalized populations.
