About the Role
The Washington Association of Child Advocate Programs is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Volunteer Recruitment Specialist. In this critical role, you will play a key part in ensuring that children in the dependency system have a volunteer advocate to represent them in court.
As a Volunteer Recruitment Specialist, you will work within a local community to recruit and support new volunteers who are interested in advocating for children in need. You will collaborate with your host site program and other AmeriCorps Members throughout Washington to complete volunteer recruitment projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Outreach: Lead outreach efforts by researching and attending various community events to promote volunteerism.
- Marketing: Collaborate with Host Site and fellow AmeriCorps members to develop a marketing strategy aimed at engaging a diverse pool of volunteers.
- Data Tracking: Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities and outcomes.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and strengthen relationships with local universities, corporations, and community organizations to foster volunteer recruitment.
Requirements
- Some college preferred or equivalent experience/training.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, bi-lingual ability a plus.
- Strong organizational skills including multi-tasking, prioritizing, planning, and time management.
- Familiarity with or experience in the foster care/dependency system.
