Join the WSU Center for Civic Engagement team as a Food Security Coordinator, a vital role in addressing food insecurity among students at Washington State University.

About the Role:

This position is part of the AmeriCorps Civic Leadership & Engagement Corps (CLEC) program, which aims to empower students with the skills and resources to thrive in school and beyond. As a Food Security Coordinator, you will work closely with campus and community partners to support the Coug Food Pantry, a vital resource for students experiencing food insecurity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Coug Food Pantry, ensuring its smooth operation and effectiveness in serving students.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to students navigating the Pantry, helping them access resources and support.
  • Build community and campus relationships to bolster the Pantry's mission and expand its reach.
  • Collaborate with the Cougs Feeding Cougs Advisory Committee to determine goals and strategies for the Pantry.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in food insecurity, human services, or community engagement.
  • Ability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong data management and social media skills.
  • Strong initiative, self-starter, and enthusiasm for helping others succeed.
  • Committed to promoting educational equity and inclusion.
  • Ability to pass a national service criminal history check.
  • 18 or older.
  • AA/BA or some college.
  • United States citizen, naturalized citizen, or lawful permanent resident.
  • Committed to serving 100% of service hours.
